This week I experimented with color choices and patterns. I have a pretty set color pallet, but I was wondering if I should add more primary colors and secondary colors to use to differentiate items on the learning platform. I used the colors in the icon revisions and groupings. I also made a few edits to the icon set, making a few one color and changing the circle colors. In addition to experimenting with color, I added more patterns and experimented with color and opacity. I then got back to work on the website. I spent a lot of time thinking about what information should be included in the website and determined that I need to make more detailed sketches before proceeding with the computer versions. I did not complete as much work as I had originally planned this week. Next week I want to map out the website better and get into platform revisions and the social media options.

This week I continued to work on the OctoEd website. I created user task flows for 4 tasks: 1. Guest Access/ Sign Up for Newsletter, 2. Create Account, 3. Print Infor for Board Meeting, 4. Order Launch Kit. After creating the user flows, I began to think about the naming of the launch kit and its function. The launch kit would serve as a free trial with "swag"/ promotional items, and literature on the product. I wonder if this should then be called a free trial or a trial kit. I created 3 versions of the home screen of the website as well as the pop-up sign-in screens. I also did some visual research on social media and communication options for the learning platform. This is in the form of handwritten notes and phone screen grabs. I did not include this in my presentation. Lastly, I edited the icons for the learning platform. I included the last version for reference. I also tried a new version that was white with a thin black outline that was an unsuccessful version. I included it for the record, but will not be going forth with that version. Next week, I will continue to refine the website and create the 3 other web pages including launch kit, ordering, and about us. I will also write and add text to the website. I will begin to map out the video that will be presented on the website. I also plan on continuing to revise the learning platform and continue with the social media/communication part of the platform. |
